Program-Related Opportunities

Buffalo State is committed to providing students with educational opportunities that extend beyond the classroom. The college offers more than 100 clubs and extracurricular organizations that give students the opportunity to socialize, expand their interests, and gain hands-on experience to enhance their employability. 

Information Processors Association (IPA)

  • Provides web hosting for Buffalo State students, alumni, and clubs
  • Invites guest speakers to discuss topics of interest in the IT field. 
  • IPA maintains an active membership and is open to all students.

High Performance Computing (HiPerC)

This student organization promotes the learning, application, and advancement of high-performance computing across multiple disciplines.

Scholarships

The staff at the Information Technology Exchange Center (ITEC) established a scholarship given to a student who shows promise in the use of computing and technology. Since 2004, ITEC has awarded $55,000 to 57 recipients, not all of whom are CIS majors.
