CIS Programs

Computer information systems (CIS) studies the use of software, hardware, data, networks, and the internet to design and develop information technology systems. CIS majors learn how to apply current computer technology to real-world business problems.

About Our Programs

The Buffalo State computer information systems program prepares students for entry-level positions and provides them with the technical knowledge and managerial skills necessary for a wide range of subsequent career paths. Our CIS program was developed with the cooperation of employers and information systems professionals. Its emphasis is on commercial applications of computers rather than theory. Buffalo State's CIS minor is an excellent choice for students majoring in business, engineering technology, economics, and many other fields in which an understanding of computer software is helpful.
